Window Man

A 2D platformer, designed to be played on the side of the university tower. Winner of the University of Northampton Hamfest gamejam 2022.
Window man was developed by a team of five students, my role was lead designer.

Window man

The 2022 gamejam required us to develop something for the University of Northampton Power Tower, which displays at a 213x1080 resolution.

We chose to capitalise on the theme when designing the games' aesthetic and gameplay. You play as the window man and must navigate the skyscraper and solve problems at each window by clicking the correct button. If not pressed in time then the window is destroyed. Lose three windows and the tower shrinks by a level, revealing the destruction of the alien invasion behind.

Your score is determined by how long you were able to keep as many windows as possible before your shift ends.

My role for this project was Lead designer. As lead designer I conceptualised the idea and combined it with the aesthetic.

Window man won best game of the gamejam thanks to our teams hard work and willingness to push the idea as far as it would go without sacrificing its quality.
